Be That Person

I know I drive some of you crazy with my constant barrage of queer content. Trust me, I get it. But here’s the thing—you have to understand that my posts aren’t really for you. And I’m certainly not trying to change the minds of the far-right extremists who have already decided to rationalize their hatred.

My posts are for that one kid who needs to know they are not alone. The one sitting in their bedroom, scrolling through their feed, feeling like the walls are closing in because their family, their church, their school, or their small town is suffocating them with shame. The kid who has never been told that people like them have lived full, valuable, beautiful lives. The one who needs to hear queer history so they know they come from a lineage of survivors, warriors, and legends.

My posts are for the ones who feel like there is no escape, who are being told that they are broken, that they are sinful, that they are wrong. Who might be at their breaking point and need resources, support, or just one voice telling them that there is a whole world waiting for them—a world where they are not just tolerated but celebrated.

This is why I’m not going quiet.

There is an entire generation of young queer people who are learning firsthand just how dark and hateful some religions, groups, and individuals can be. But let’s be clear—the hateful are the damned ones, not these kids. These kids are the ones who need our voices, our visibility, and our love to remind them exactly how blessed their lives are.

So, I encourage you—share these posts. Not for yourself, but for the chance that they might reach the one person who desperately needs to see them. Every time you like, share, or engage with queer content, you help push it further into the world. And the further it goes, the greater the chance it finds someone who needs it. Maybe even saves a life.

Be that person. Because you have no idea what one sensible voice can do.
