There’s so much craziness online right now. I’m running everything I post through analytics to see if it’s true. You saw this with my post this morning. Tell people what’s going on and then back it up with fact.
Here’s an example: There are a lot of reports of people dying in ICE detention centers. Is this true or false?
“ICE’s own data—as well as investigations by watchdog groups and advocacy organizations—indicate that detainee deaths in ICE custody do occur. ICE publishes detainee death reports, which document fatalities that happen while individuals are held in detention centers. Independent reviews, including reports by the ACLU and Physicians for Human Rights, have found that a large majority of these deaths are preventable, often linked to inadequate medical care, insufficient emergency response, and systemic failures in both physical and mental health services. Recent media reports have also highlighted particularly harsh conditions at facilities like Miami’s Krome Detention Center, where overcrowding, neglect, and other inhumane conditions have been associated with detainee deaths.
Overall, while ICE asserts that it maintains standards of care, the evidence shows that systemic issues—especially in privately run facilities—are contributing to a number of preventable deaths in detention. These findings have prompted calls from civil rights advocates and lawmakers for improved oversight, enhanced medical care, and reforms to reduce reliance on detention altogether.”
This took less than two minutes to find the answer. Yes, it is true. Do this with everything. We need to bombard social media with fact. The only way to combat the lies MAGA peddles to their people is to present undeniable fact over and over.
