Gorilla Unleashed: Monsters, Mayhem, and a Modern Warning

I’m excited to share some insights about my upcoming book, Gorilla. I know many of you have been asking questions, so I thought I’d dive into five of the most popular ones. Grab a cup of coffee, get comfortable, and let’s talk about what’s brewing behind the scenes.

1. So, what’s Gorilla all about?

At its core, Gorilla is a story about monsters—both the literal and the metaphorical kinds—and how they operate in our modern world. I’ve woven together research dating all the way back to the 1950s with contemporary insights to craft a narrative that serves as both a stark warning and, hopefully, a prophetic glimpse into our future. Expect a strong supernatural element mixed with real-world terror, a blend that explores the idea that sometimes the monsters we fear aren’t entirely fictional. The book uses the city of St. Louis once again as the canvas for its horrors and mayhem.

2. What’s up with the title—why call it Gorilla?

The title might seem offbeat at first, but there’s a method to the madness. There are actually a few gorillas featured in the book. They symbolize the innocence within all of us—a reminder of how easily we can be manipulated into revealing our darker, more primal selves. In many ways, Gorilla is a metaphor for the apex predator we all harbor deep inside. It’s that latent, wild force that can transform us, acting as the catalyst for the creation of monsters, both within society and within ourselves.

3. Who are the main characters, and what kind of trouble do they get into?

I’ve populated Gorilla with a rich cast of characters who each bring a unique perspective to this eerie narrative. Detective Vincent Rossi makes his return—if you’ve followed my work in Glow, you’ll know he’s a modern-day night stalker whose investigations often lead him down dark, twisting paths. Along the way, he encounters a host of intriguing personalities, each embroiled in the unfolding chaos. And then there’s the villain—a character I’ve taken a daring new approach with. This is the first time I’ve crafted a villain who is so vividly cruel, heartless, and downright vile that he challenges everything the other characters stand for.

4. What made you decide to write this book—any cool real-life inspiration?

The inspiration behind Gorilla is as varied as it is personal. Drawing from both my own experiences and the headlines of today, I delved into some truly unsettling research. From the notorious MK-Ultra experiments of the 1950s to the modern-day machinations of shadowy factions intent on controlling our world, I wanted to ground the horror in reality—even if the story itself is a work of fiction. There’s nothing too far out there in this book; instead, I’ve aimed to explore the terrifying potentials that lurk in the margins of our everyday lives.

5. What’s the vibe of the book—fast-paced, mysterious, or something else?

If there’s one word to sum it up, it’s horror—horror in its truest, most unflinching sense. Gorilla is a multifaceted monster tale that blends psychological thrills with supernatural chills, and it even weaves in elements of modern-day and historical drama. It’s fast-paced, emotionally charged, and at times, downright shocking. I don’t shy away from the hard questions or the dark places this story must visit. Expect a narrative that is as brutal and honest as it is compelling, pushing boundaries while exploring the nature of modern monsters and the creation of evil in our society.

I’m thrilled to take you on this journey, and I can’t wait for you to experience the twists, scares, and revelations that lie ahead. Stay tuned for more Gorilla updates as we get closer to the release!
