These two things, pictured in the above photo, seem to set the far right off more than anything else right now. Both are facts. One is rooted in science, the other in history. Both are straightforward in the truths they reveal.
So why do these two things bother them so much? Out of all the issues they could focus on, these are the ones that seem to really get under their skin—even though they’re unchangeable and, honestly, don’t really impact their day-to-day lives. It’s almost funny, except it’s not.
The truth is, it’s not about the facts themselves. It’s about what those facts represent. They challenge their worldview built on exclusion and entitlement. For some, their entire sense of identity seems tied to hating those who are different—whether it’s their race, gender, beliefs, or way of life. It’s like their insecurities and fears are all wrapped up in the idea that they’re supposed to be the center of the universe. And when reality says otherwise, they lash out.
What’s wild is how far they’re willing to go. They’ll sacrifice their own rights, their own freedoms, just to cling to the illusion that they’re the only ones who matter. This makes them easy to manipulate and control. It’s not just about resisting change—it’s about refusing to accept that the world doesn’t revolve around them. And that, to me, is the heart of it: entitlement. When you’re used to being at the top, equality feels like oppression. It’s a tale as old as time and still just as dangerous and destructive.
