Our Voices, Our Power.
We’re living in a time where the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ people are under constant attack. Book bans, censorship, and hateful rhetoric are on the rise. But, as artists, we have an incredible power to challenge the status quo and inspire change.
Art, in all its forms, has always been a powerful tool for social change. It can challenge stereotypes, spark conversations, and inspire empathy. LGBTQ+ art, in particular, can be a lifeline for many of us. It helps us feel seen, heard, and understood. It builds community and fosters a sense of belonging.
So, why are they trying to silence us? Because they fear the power of our stories. They know that art can challenge the status quo, inspire empathy, and mobilize action. That’s why it’s crucial that we keep creating, sharing, and supporting LGBTQ+ art.
Let’s keep writing, painting, singing, and performing. Let’s share our stories, our passions, and our perspectives. Let’s support LGBTQ+ artists by buying their books, attending their shows, and donating to LGBTQ+ arts organizations. And let’s challenge censorship by speaking out against book bans and censorship.
By continuing to create, share, and support LGBTQ+ art, we can ensure that our voices are heard and our communities are uplifted. Let’s make our voices louder than ever before because we know and we always remember that our silence will equal our death as individuals and as a community.
